AFTERCARE
BROW AFTERCARE
-
You do not need to do anything for your brows on day one! The barrier that was applied to your new cosmetic tattoo before you left will protect it from encountering any moisture or bacteria. Please do not remove it or rub at it. Use a clean paper towel to keep the area dry by gently patting, never rubbing.
-
After the first day, gently wash (don’t scrub!) the area morning and night with an antibacterial soap like Dial, Neutrogena, or Cetaphil.
-
Apply Aquaphor throughout the day with a clean Q-tip for a minimum of 5 to 7 days.
-
Areas should remain “shiny” with ointment for the first 5 days to prevent scabbing.
-
Do NOT pick or peel flaking skin. Allow them to fall off naturally.
-
Avoid exercise/sweating for the first week after the procedure. Sweating can cause bacteria growth and/or loss of pigment while your tattoo is healing.
-
No swimming for 2 weeks.
-
Avoid sun exposure for a minimum of 2 weeks. After that, apply sunscreen to the treated area. Regular sun exposure will cause the pigment to fade.
-
Do not use any alpha-hydroxy acids, retinoids, hydrocortisone, or benzyl peroxide products for the first 2 weeks.
-
If you are having any skincare procedure done on your face, please inform your technician about your cosmetic tattoo!
FRECKLES AFTERCARE
-
Freckles take approximately 5-7 days to heal.
-
During the healing process you cannot wear any makeup on your freckles.
-
Immediately after, your freckle tattoos will look bold and maybe even a little red. This is normal and will subside with healing.
-
Once healed, the freckles will look much softer and more natural.
-
Stay out of pools, oceans, saunas, hot tubs, etc. as well as direct sunlight during the healing period.
-
No sweating or hot yoga during the healing process.
-
Do not touch, pick, or scratch your healing freckles. This will result in loss of pigment.
-
You may apply a gentle moisturizer to the area if itching occurs.
-
If you are planning to have a chemical peel, MRI, or other medical procedure, please tell the technician that you have an iron-oxide cosmetic tattoo.
-
If you are planning a laser treatment, tell your laser technician to avoid the pigmented area. Lasers may cause the pigment to darken.
LIPS AFTERCARE
(PLEASE NOTE: If you suffer from or have ever had a cold sore (even just once), it is recommended that you receive a prescription for Valtrex (or similar medication) from your doctor to take 2 days prior, the day of, and 2 days after your lip procedure.)
-
Days 1 & 2, you will frequently wipe lips with the provided aftercare pads to avoid any buildup of lymph on your fresh lip tattoo, and you will apply a generous amount of aquafor throughout the day to avoid scabbing.
-
Avoid direct contact with foods (especially spicy foods) or drinks on the treated area for the first 2 days.
-
Use a straw (preferably reusable) when you drink and a fork when eating food.
-
Disposable ice packs may be used on the area to reduce swelling if necessary.
-
Wash your hands before touching the treated area. Some itching is normal.
-
DO NOT PICK, PEEL, OR SCRATCH THE TREATED AREA. Doing so will cause your color to heal unevenly, and you may risk scarring and/or infection.
-
No makeup is to be applied until peeling has finished.
-
Do not use teeth bleaching products until fully healed.
-
You much wait 2 months post procedure to receive Botox or fillers in treated area
EYELINER AFTERCARE
(PLEASE NOTE: This procedure cannot be performed if you have lash extensions on, or if you have used Latisse or any other lash serums within 2 weeks of your appointment.)
-
No eye makeup of contact lenses for the next 6 days.Wash your face gently over the next 6 days, but avoid scrubbing the eye area. Pat dry with clean paper towel or tissue.
-
Apply Aquafor to the treatment area twice a day/as needed for the next 6 days using a clean Q-tip.
-
DO NOT pick or peel at the flaking skin.
-
No swimming, hot tubs, saunas, or hot yoga for 2 weeks.
-
Avoid sun exposure for the next 4 weeks.
-
You may ice your eyes as needed, but for no more than 10 minutes at a time and do not allow condensation or moisture to accumulate on the treatment site.
-
You may return to your regular makeup routine on day seven.
-
It is highly recommended that you cleanse all makeup brushes and pencils before returning to your regular makeup routine to avoid introducing bacteria from old products to the treatment area.
